A great achievement and recognition of all the work they do supporting children, young people and adults in Manchester. Congratulations to the teams, well deserved, I am so proud.”
Claire Duggan, Lead Manager for School Health, Accident Prevention,Orthoptics, Audiology and Newborn Hearing Screening said, “I am delighted to share the news that the Healthy Weight Team won the Public Health Nursing Award last night at the Nursing Times Awards in London. We have been leading this agenda for many years now and it has been an uphill struggle with many challenges along the way. The Team have worked tirelessly to try to battle against the obesity epidemic and to try to prevent further child deaths due to morbid obesity. I couldn’t feel more proud today of what they have achieved and of how far we have come in pushing this agenda into the limelight. Congratulations to Emma and the team.”
Steve Ford, editor of Nursing Times, said: “Every year, the Nursing Times Awards showcase the innovation and best practice of nurses and midwives across the UK, providing an opportunity to celebrate and share all that is good about the nursing profession.
“But I think it’s safe to say that 2021 is special. The past 18 months have once again seen truly incredible work by nursing staff, as the unprecedented and ongoing challenge posed by the pandemic and its impact on services continues. Their efforts deserve our thanks and recognition.”
Congratulations to our colleagues at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust for winning the awards for Cancer Nursing and Respiratory Nursing.
