Palliative care supports you to live as well as possible as your illness progresses.

The palliative care team can help you. There are different people in the team.
These people are:
Nurses
A nurse can help if you are in pain. They can give you medicine to help you feel better.
A nurse can help if you feel sick or find it difficult using the toilet.
Dietitian
A dietitian can help you with your food and drink.
They can make sure that you are eating the right foods and the right amount of food.
Physiotherapists
A physiotherapist helps you with your body. They can help with walking and moving around.
Speech and language Therapist
A speech and language therapist can help you with your speaking and understanding skills.
They can also help if you find it difficult to swallow when eating or drinking.
Occupational Therapist
An occupational therapist can help you with your daily living skills like washing, cooking and getting around your home.
Doctor
Your doctor will work with the palliative care team to care for you.
The palliative care team can care for you at home.
The palliative care team can help the people who care for you.
The palliative care team can help when you are worried about money.
The palliative care team can help you make choices about your care like where you want to be cared for.
The palliative care team can help if you are worried about your life ending.
