Bowel Screening

Bowel Screening

Welcome to the population health management (PHM) hub for all things bowel screening in Manchester.

This is a resource for anyone working with people, communities and organisations who want to encourage more people to correctly complete their bowel screening tests (also known as faecal immunochemical tests or FIT tests).

Over 7,000 Greater Manchester residents responded to our Let’s Talk Bowel Screening survey.

In addition to themes around peace of mind and catching cancer early, a big motivator for people completing their tests was knowing someone with bowel cancer.

Recurring barriers to taking the test include fear of further tests such as colonoscopy, physical difficulty doing the test, hygiene, embarrassment and fear of the results.

If you would like access to some of those insights and data. Please contact communications@manchesterlco.org
