NHS Lung Health Checks will begin at a mobile NHS clinic based in the car park at Asda Hulme in Manchester from 2 January 2025.  

The checks are for current and former smokers (both cigarette and shisha smokers) aged 55-74 based at the following GP practices:

• The Arch Medical Practice M15 5TJ 

• Cornbrook Medical Practice M15 4EA 

• The Doc’s Surgery M1 3LY 

• The Whitswood Practice M16 7AP 

The Lung Health Checks are currently in the process of being rolled out across Greater Manchester based on where they are needed via groups of GP surgeries (known as Primary Care Networks) at a time.
People who meet the eligible criteria (aged 55-74 and past or current smokers) will receive an invitation once the Lung Health Check comes to their GP surgery.

If these people have any concerning symptoms in the meantime, they should speak to their GP who will be able to refer them for tests if needed. You can read about symptoms of lung cancer here:
