LCO Nurse of the Year awarded to Dena Daniel
Congratulations to Dena Daniel, Lead Nurse at the Ardwick and Longsight Integrated Neighbourhood Team in Central Manchester, who has been awarded, in Year of the Nurse and Midwife, LCO Nurse of the Year 2020.
The award is presented every year at a ceremony but this year due to Covid-19, Dena was presented her award at her base in The Vallance Centre, Brunswick in front of her colleagues.
Professor Ian Trodden, Chief Nurse and Professional Lead for LCOs, presented Dena with her award, “You are brilliant, you have shown great leadership and I wanted to come and congratulate you personally on a fantastic achievement.”
Alex Barker, LCO Head of Nursing, added “It has been a long time coming, with delays due to Covid-19, but how special to win the award this year and in the Year of the Nurse and Midwife. Dena received lots of nominations from across the organisation and really demonstrates what we are all about.”
Mags Doherty, INT Lead for Ardwick and Longsight, described how Dena had gone above and beyond in her role, “I am so impressed by the love and support you offer to patients and your care is second to none. You are an amazing example and a brilliant leader.”
Collecting the award, Dena said, “Thank you so much for this recognition. I am just doing my job and it really is down to the whole team, they make me who I am.”
