Our Infant Feeding Team have been celebrating National Volunteers Week

The Infant Feeding Team have been celebrating National Volunteers Week with their Volunteer Peer Supporters ‘Breast Friends’, Emily, Becca and Rosie, at the Message Community Church in Wythenshawe.

Breast Friends are dedicated to providing reassurance and encouragement to other parents, offering them space to share their feelings, concerns and questions.  They are an integral part of the Manchester Infant Feeding Team and give up their time to support the service because they are passionate about ensuring that all parents have access to someone to talk to about feeding and parenting.

Each week the team, together with Breast Friends, offer drop-in breastfeeding support at the Mess tots group and other venues in south and central Manchester.  Andy and Andrew from the Mess have welcomed the project into their church tots group and support the Manchester Infant Feeding Team with access to training space for the volunteers.  There is a true sense of community and everyone enjoys working together to improve the health and wellbeing of local families.
