Who is the service for?   

We provide generic nursing in the homes of patients over the age of 18 who are registered with a North Manchester GP. The service is part of the Integrated Neighbourhood Teams in the North Manchester neighbourhoods.

What does the service provide?

Nursing for patients in their own home environment. There is also a treatment room service for patients registered with a North Manchester GP.

We provide skilled nursing care at home and in residential care homes, 24 hours a day/365 days a year for patients and families.

We also provide clinic based treatment room services six days a week where the district nursing team offer a range of high-quality clinical interventions for people aged 16 and over registered with a North Manchester GP.

The district nursing service works in partnership with specialist nursing teams, GPs and multi-agency teams to coordinate your care as required, referring to other agencies with patients consent.

Evening and Night District Nursing Service North Manchester

The Evening and Night District Nursing Service work from 5:30pm – 8:00am seven evenings/nights per week based at North Manchester General Hospital. They cover the whole of the North Manchester area for all the GP’s listed above. The team have an answer machine which is remotely accessed throughout the night.

North Manchester Treatment Room

The North Manchester District Nursing services provide nursing care to patients registered with a GP in North Manchester CCG. We provide care across the borough for patients who require care in their own home and in clinic based treatment rooms.

Treatment room appointments are available Monday – Saturday at a number of community locations. For non-house bound patients able to attend a treatment room, appointments can be made by calling booking and scheduling on 0161 778 2233 (option 2).

Treatment room services include wound care, dressing changes, suture and clip removal, ear care, injections and self-management advice.
