Leg Ulcer Service – North Manchester
The service specialises in lower limb ulcers (not feet), venous disease, oedema, varicose veins, varicose eczema, post DVT care, pain.
The aim of the service is to treat patients with a North Manchester GP by offering assessments, devising the most appropriate treatment plans with patients, offering timely and evidence-based care with equity for all.
This is a non-emergency service for people aged 16 and over who are registered with a North Manchester GP. Patients must be mobile or mobile with help by family or carer and can self-transfer onto the examination couch.
The service provides Doppler ultrasound and Toe pressure assessments to determine arterial blood flow to lower limbs. The service also provides wound assessments, hosiery, and compression assessments. All treatment plans are discussed with patients and choices are offered around their care.
